Have you ever wanted to compose a mail now and schedule it to send at a future date? Boomerang can do this for you. However, if you are an Outlook user, you can use Microsoft’s built-in scheduler to delay the delivery of your email message. But if you are an avid Gmail with Chrome or Firefox user, you must depend on a third-party application like Boomerang. Boomerang can schedule emails you send and delay emails you’ve received.
Boomerang for Gmail review
Boomerang allows you to schedule your emails to be sent in the future and delivers them dutifully when scheduled. It also lets you postpone the receiving email, which first disappears from your inbox and appears automatically when scheduled.
While it is one of the best browser extensions, the only drawback is that Boomerang is not available for other email services except Gmail and that too for Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome only.
How to schedule Gmail email
- Install Boomerang and reload Gmail.
- You will notice a Boomerang icon in the top right corner.
- Compose mail and click on ‘Send later’ next to the send button at the bottom.
- It will open a drop-down with various options.
- Select the date and time you want to schedule your mail message and click on ‘Confirm’. You can specify any date and time from the shortcuts like ‘in one hour’, ‘tomorrow morning’, ‘next week’ or ‘1 month’. You can also add your own customized day and time for scheduling mail for example; Monday 7 a.m. or tomorrow 5 p.m.
Boomerang also allows you to postpone the received email by taking the messages out of your inbox until you actually need them. Click on the Boomerang button with an email open. It will open up a drop-down, specify the date and time you want it to reappear in your inbox. Boomerang will archive the mail and bring it to your inbox on top of your message list at the time you choose.
It also helps you to follow up a message within a specific time frame after sending a message. It has options like ‘only be reminded if nobody replies, or regardless. This way you won’t let messages slip through the crack and will never forget to follow up with people.
That’s it! It is so simple to schedule the emails with Boomerang. You can now write the birthday notes when you have time and send them at right time with Boomerang. You can also communicate with people in different time zones, follow up with your sales head, and lots more.
Cons of Boomerang
This is a subscription-based service. The free version allows a user to schedule only ten emails a month. The other concern is that you have to grant third-party access to your Gmail account for scheduling emails. Overall Boomerang for Gmail is a nice Edge, Firefox, Chrome plugin which gives you total control over when you send and receive email messages. Get Boomerang here,
