Easy Screen OCR is a free software for Windows 11/10 that allows you to extract & capture text from any image or screenshot. Creating rich content sometimes requires you to convert the images displayed on the screen into text that can be readily edited and shared with other users. Easy Screen OCR lets you grab snapshots of your screen and extract the text from it.

Easy Screen OCR (Optical Character Recognition) tool can capture and convert Screenshots to Text. It can also extract text from an image, video, website, or document for convenient editing.

Once you have downloaded and installed this tool, an icon will appear on the right side of the Taskbar.

Right-click on Easy Screen OCR icon and select ‘Capture’ from the list of options.

Next, select the area you would like to capture by dragging the mouse cursor.

Once you complete this step, a preview of the capture area will be visible to you as a ScreenOCR in the lower right corner of the screen with two tabs.

Picture tab – Displays screenshot only
Text tab – Extracts and displays the text as well

While remaining on the Picture tab, click the OCR button. When confirmed, the action will begin recognizing the text.

Once done, switch to the Text tab. The action of the tab will instantly transform the image into text format. You can copy and use this text or save it as a PDF file if required.

In all, Easy Screen OCR requires three simple steps to complete the entire process.

Apart from the above, the intuitive interface of the tool lets you configure settings like the OCR language and customize keyboard shortcuts via ‘Preferences’.
