This prompt has been blocked says Copilot
1] Do not give a vulgar prompt
Microsoft has started blocking prompts in Copilot’s Designer AI image creator that previously generated violent or inappropriate images. You will not be able to create violent or sexual images. Following concerns raised to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, prompts like “pro-choice” and “pro-life” were found to create disturbing content. Now, Copilot flags such prompts with a warning, stating they conflict with content policies and may lead to suspension if violations persist. Users can report flagged prompts they believe are mistakes.
2] Clear your browser’s cache
You may also encounter this if your browser’s cache is corrupted. Caches are nothing but the frequently accessed data that your browser stores so that you can access them quickly when needed. To clear your browser’s cache, you can follow the steps mentioned below.
Chrome
- Open the Chrome browser.
- Then, click on the three dots and select Settings.
- Now, go to Privacy and security > Delete browsing data.
- Set the Time range to All time, tick all the checkboxes, and click on Delete data.
Edge
- Launch the browser.
- Now, click on the three horizontal dots and click on Settings.
- Click on Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data.
- Click on Choose what to clear.
- Set the Time range to All time, tick all the checkboxes, and click on Clear now.
After clearing your browser’s cache, go back to Copilot Designer and see if it is working now.
You can also try a different browser and see if that helps.
3] Be Patient
One of the reasons why you may encounter this issue is inpatient. Constantly switching between tabs like Explore Ideas and Creations, scrolling through Recent creations, or repeatedly clicking Refresh can overwhelm the AI, causing delays or repetitive responses, especially if Boosts aren’t used.
To optimize your experience, simply enter your prompt and give the AI sufficient time to process it. You can switch to another tab, work on a different task, or step away from your computer for a few minutes. When you return, your creation should be ready. Avoid using Refresh as it disrupts the process and may lead to errors. Patience ensures smoother and more reliable results!
4] Log out and log back in
If your account is not working, we recommend you log out and then log back in. To do so, you can just click on your account name and select “Sign out.” Then, use your credentials to sign back in.
5] Create a new Local account
This can problem can be related to the user profile; maybe it is corrupted or has some misconfiguration. Either way, we will create a new Local account and then run Copilot Designer to see if it works. You can follow the steps mentioned below to do the same.
- First of all, launch Settings.
- Then, go to Accounts.
- Scroll down and click on Family & other users.
- To create a new account, you need to click on Add account from the Other users section.
- You have to click on the I don’t have this person’s sign-in information option.
- Now, click on Add a user without a Microsoft account.
- You need to enter your credentials and click on Next.
You can now open Copilot Designer and see if you are able to use the prompts.
6] Report your issue
Last but not least, if your issue is resolved, you can go ahead and report it. You can go to microsoft.com and then traverse through the options to register your complaint. Hopefully, they will be able to resolve your issue, and your Copilot Designer will start working.
Hopefully, you will be able to resolve your issue with these solutions.

Why does Copilot say I can’t submit anymore prompts?
Copilot may stop accepting prompts if your previous entries repeatedly violate its content policies. Each flagged prompt builds up until the system temporarily suspends your access. This could happen due to inappropriate wording or topics that go against guidelines. To avoid this, ensure your prompts comply with the platform’s rules. If you think the block was an error, use the report option provided to explain your case. Reviewing content policies helps prevent such situations in the future.

Does Copilot save prompts?
Copilot doesn’t save user prompts permanently. While it uses prompts to provide responses during a session, they are not stored indefinitely. This allows it to improve the flow of the conversation without keeping a long-term record of what you enter. If you’re concerned about how data is handled, you can review Microsoft’s privacy statement for details. Copilot ensures that the conversation remains focused and useful while respecting privacy guidelines.
