On the other hand, some users get blank pages while using Copilot in Edge.

- Clear cookies for Copilot in Edge
- Disable extensions

Let’s see all these fixes in detail.
Fix Attempting to reconnect Copilot error
1] Check for updates
Check for updates in Edge. If an update is available, download and install it. Open Edge and click on the three dots on the top right side. Then, select Help and feedback > About Microsoft Edge. After that, Edge will check for updates automatically and install it (if available). Restart Edge after installing the update and see if the issue persists.
Also, check for Windows Update and install the same (if available).
2] Clear cache and cookies
Corrupt cache and cookies can be one possible cause of this problem. Therefore, we suggest you clear Edge cache and cookies and see if it helps. To do so, press the Ctrl + Shift + Delete keys to open the Delete browsing data window. Now, select the respective checkboxes for cookies and cache, and click Clear now.
3] Clear cookies for Copilot in Edge
If the issue still persists, try clearing cookies for Copilot in Edge. Follow the steps provided below:
- First, open Copilot in Edge.
- Press the F12 function key to open Edge Developer Tools.
- A popup will appear on the right side for your confirmation. Click Open DevTools.
- Select the Application tab from the top. If the tab is not visible, click on the + icon and select Application.
- Now, expand the Cookies drop-down on the left side.
- You will see the Copilot link there. Right-click on it and select Clear.
Follow the same steps to clear cookies for Bing. First open Bing.com in Edge, then open the Developer Tools. Now, clear cookies for Bing.
Now, check if you can use Copilot in Edge.
4] Disable extensions
Extensions installed in Edge might be the culprit of this problem. To check this, disable all the extensions and reload Copilot. See if it starts working this time. If this fixes the issue, your next step should be identifying the problematic extension. Enable extensions one by one and reload Copilot every time you enable an extension. This will help you identify the culprit. Once you find it, uninstall it.
5] Check the Tracking Protection settings
The Tracking Prevention feature in Edge helps you protect your privacy by limiting the websites to track your online activity. By default, it is set to Balanced. You can change it from Balanced to Basic or Strict. The Strict setting blocks a majority of trackers. However, this setting can cause some websites to break.
Check the Tracking Protection setting. If it is set to Strict, change it to Balanced. The following steps will help you with that:
- Open Edge Settings.
- Select Privacy, search, and services from the left side.
- Under Tracking Prevention, select Balanced.
6] Create another profile
You can create multiple profiles in Edge. Create another profile and see if Copilot starts working. If this fixes the issue, you can continue using the new profile and delete the previous one.
Before deleting the previous profile, sign in to that profile with your Microsoft account, so that all your bookmarks and extensions are saved to the cloud. This will help you restore all your bookmarks and extensions after signing in to the new profile with the same Microsoft account.
7] Reset Edge
If none of the above-mentioned fixes help, reset Edge to the default settings.
