In this article, we will see what you can do if the Corsair iCUE software is not detecting RAM on your Windows system. The Corsair iCUE software allows users to control RGB lighting on their computers, but some users have reported that they cannot do this because the software does not detect the RAM sticks.
Why is iCUE not picking up my RAM?
The most common cause of iCUE not picking up or detecting your RAM is conflicting background software. In addition to this, the incorrect SPD Write settings are also responsible for this problem.

Use the following suggestions if the Corsair iCUE software is not detecting RAM on your Windows computer.
- Close the iCUE software and relaunch it
- Check for software updates
- Reseat your RAM
- Does your motherboard have an SPD Write feature?
- Are you using another software to control the RGB RAM lighting?
- Repair the iCUE software
- Uninstall and reinstall the iCUE software
- Contact support
Below, we have explained all these fixes in detail.
1] Close the iCUE software and relaunch it
The first thing that you should do is close the iCUE software completely and then relaunch it. Follow the steps provided below:
- Close the iCUE software.
- Open the Task Manager and select the Processes tab.
- Look for the Corsair iCUE processes running in the background.
- Right-click on each iCUE process and select End task.
After performing the above steps, launch the iCUE software. Now, see if it detects the RAM or not.
2] Check for software updates
Make sure that you are using the latest version of the Corsair iCUE software. Follow the steps provided below to check for software updates:
- Open the iCUE software.
- Click on the gear-shaped icon on the top right side to open its settings.
- Select Software Updates from the left side.
- Now, click on the Check for Updates button.
After performing the above steps, the software will check for updates and install the same (if available).
3] Reseat your RAM
Your RAM might not be seated properly. We suggest you reseat all your RAM sticks. Turn off your computer completely, then open the computer case. Now, remove the RAM sticks and clean them. Also, clean the RAM slots. After cleaning the RAM sticks and RAM slots, insert the RAM sticks again.
4] Does your motherboard have an SPD Write feature?
If your motherboard has an SPD Write feature, it should be enabled. Otherwise, the Corsair iCUE software will not detect your RAM sticks. Refer to the user manual to know if your motherboard has this feature. Also, the method to enable this feature is mentioned in the user manual of your motherboard.
5] Are you using another software to control the RGB RAM lighting?
If you are using another software to control the RGB RAM lighting, it may conflict with the Corsair iCUE software. Hence, the Corsair iCUE software does not work if another RAM lighting control software is installed on your system. In this case, you need to completely remove the other software.
To completely remove the other software, you have to delete all its residue files and Registry keys. Doing this manually is a difficult task. Therefore, you can use the Revo Uninstaller for this purpose.
6] Repair the iCUE software
If the issue still persists, we suggest you repair the iCUE software. You can do this via Windows 11/10 Settings. The following instructions will guide you on this:
- Open Windows 11/10 Settings.
- Go to Apps > Installed apps.
- Locate the Corsair iCUE software.
- Select it or click on the three dots next to it. Select Modify.
- Click Yes in the UAC prompt.
After performing the above steps, the repair process will start automatically, and you will see the Successfully Repaired message on the screen when the repair process is completed. Now, start iCUE and see if it detects the RAM this time.
7] Uninstall and reinstall the iCUE software
If iCUE is still not detecting your RAM, uninstalling and reinstalling it is the last resort. You can use the Control Panel or Windows Settings to uninstall the iCUE software. After uninstalling the software, restart your computer. Now, download its latest version from the official website and install it.
