In Windows 11/10, the File Explorer favorites are seen pinned under Quick Access on the left side of File Explorer. You can choose to keep the Desktop screen as the default location of your favorites. For this, you’ll need to do the following things.
- Right-click on your Desktop
- Select New > Shortcut
- Paste the Favorites string value in the Target box

1] Create and name the shortcut

After that, simply select an icon you want to use or browse to the location of a custom icon and click OK.
