After installing Evernote app, right-click on the desktop and create a new shortcut. In the item location box, you need to enter the Notebook path. As this is not desktop software, you need to enter a custom path like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Evernote\Evernote\ENScript.exe" showNotes /q "notebook:NoteBookName"
This path may vary depending on whether your is a 32-bit or a 64-bit Windows.
Also, you need to replace NoteBookName with the actual Notebook name. If your notebook name is Example, do enter the following path,
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Evernote\Evernote\ENScript.exe" showNotes /q "notebook:Example"
After that, go to the next screen and enter a name to identify your Notebook from the desktop.
This tutorial is for those notebooks, which have only one-word name. (i.e. Notes or Example etc.). If you have two or more words name (i.e. Daily Notes, My Example, etc.), you need to enter the path like this,
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Evernote\Evernote\ENScript.exe" showNotes /q "notebook:""My NoteBook""
The other options should not be changed.
Create desktop shortcut for Evernote tag
Notebooks work like a directory and Tags assist users in categorizing their notes. If you want to create a desktop shortcut for Evernote tag, first, create a shortcut on your desktop and enter the following path,
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Evernote\Evernote\ENScript.exe" showNotes /q "tag:\"MyTag\""
This path may vary depending on whether your is a 32-bit or a 64-bit Windows.
You also need to change MyTag with your own Tag name. After that, you need to enter a name so that you can recognize the shortcut from your desktop.
At the same time, if you use multiple words tag (i.e. My Tag, or Example tag), you need to enter the following path:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Evernote\Evernote\ENScript.exe" showNotes /q "tag:\"My Tag\""
In this way, you can easily create a desktop shortcut for any Evernote Notebook and Tag. You can simply follow this method and create a shortcut so that you can get rid of multiple Evernote options in order to open a Notebook or Tag.
