Discord has a cool feature called Auto-Embed, and it is an option that basically makes it possible for users to post, for example, a YouTube video link into a chat and play that same video from within the chat. No need to visit the exact page unless the video creator removes this option.
How to turn off Auto-embed in Discord
Auto-Embed is a feature found on many social media platforms, so it comes as no surprise to find out that Discord has done the same thing. Now, not everyone might find this feature useful, and as such, they may feel the need to disable it. The question is, though, how do we get this done? Well, the task is super easy so let us discuss it right now.
- Open Discord
- Log into your account
- Got to User Settings
- Disable Auto Embed
- How to disable text to speech
Once you’re in, click on the User Settings gear icon at the bottom, and right away, you should see a plethora of options to choose from.
When it comes down to disabling the feature, please go to Text & Images, and from there, turn off all three options that sit under Display Images, Videos, and Lolcats.
As we advance, URLs will no longer auto-embed in a chat.
