We as humans live in a time of terrible weather, and from what we can tell, a lot of this is caused by Global Warming. Apparently, this is a major problem, and if not rectified, it could see the end of us as a species. There are many who stand behind Global Warming, and on the other hand of the spectrum, there are those who are against the idea altogether. Today, we will talk about an online web app called Earth Alerts. This web app also offers a classic software that you can install on your PC.
Get reports of recent Natural Disasters & Hazard Events
Earth Alert is a web app as well as a free download that you can install & use on your Windows PC. It shows information on volcanic activity, Tsunami, severe weather, and much more. It is designed to run on Microsoft Windows which allows you to monitor in near real-time a variety of natural hazard events that are occurring anywhere around the world.
1] User Interface
The first thing the user will notice is the dated user interface that sits before them. It didn’t matter much to us, but it will likely be an issue for some. Many users are drawn to pretty things, and as such, not having a good-looking UI is a disadvantage.
2] Location
For some strange reason, Earth Alerts supports two locations, and they are Global and the United States. This is very disappointing because selecting a country from outside of the US is impossible at this time. The developer seems not to realize that most of the world’s population lives outside of the United States.
For those who choose to use Global, just bear in mind the weather might not 100% represent your location.
Now, if the user selects the United States, then all features will activate, and folks will get the chance to use the tool to its full potential.
3] Fire
Due to the number of forest fires popping up in the United States on a yearly basis, we’re quite happy to see Fire under United States Overview. If you live in California or other fire-prone sections of the United States, then you should keep an eye here.
From what we can tell, all fire-related information is updated on Fridays only.
4] Severe Weather
This is the spot for getting information on severe weather within the United States. Folks will see a map of the entire country, but if that’s not enough, how about looking at the real-time Radar?
From here, the user can keep up with what is going on over the country- and if that’s not enough, then have a look at the news.
Download Earth Alerts for Windows PC
Overall, we believe that Earth Alerts is pretty decent and if you like it, you can download it from the official website right now.
