What can Wifinian do?
Wifinian helps you choose and connect to the most efficient Wi-Fi connection. It can perform the following functions.
- Connect or disconnect a network.
- Rename a wireless network.
- Alter the automatic connection (auto-connect) or automatic switch (auto-switch) settings of a wireless profile.
- Rush: Perform the rescan of wireless networks in short intervals.
- Engage: Execute automatic connections depending on signal strength, order, and automatic switch setting of wireless profiles.
- Organize: Alter the priority of wireless profiles or delete the wireless profile.
How to control Wi-Fi connections in Windows with Wifinian
Once installed, the WiFinian tool runs from the tray. Clicking it displays a compact GUI that gives details of all available networks. This tool shows only the networks which have SSID settings stored on their computer. It means that these networks were connected to in the past.
Every listed connection has the name and network adapter details provided with it. You can view the Wi-Fi signal quality in the box below the name of each Wi-Fi profile. Please note that the signal quality shown may vary when connected to a network, as compared to when shown in the list. To connect, you can click on the network’s box and select it.
The connected network is highlighted with a light background. In case, the connection is not available, the background will change to a darker background to indicate the said status. In case, the program is rescanning for networks, it will be indicated by a circle at the top of the Wifinian app. The circle symbol will continue to spin while opening the interface. You can rescan the networks by clicking on the “Rush” option next to the circle.

How to select the best network with WiFinian
In the case of multiple network connections, you can select the one with the highest signal strength by toggling the Engage mode in Wifinian. You can define the minimum signal strength in percent (%) by clicking on the box next to the option. It starts at 50 and goes to 90. Every listed network comes with two options i.e. auto-connect and auto-switch.
- The auto-connect option helps your computer connect to the network when the connection is available.
- Auto-switch option when enabled along with Engage, helps you switch to the best network strength available.
You can also rename a Wi-Fi profile. For renaming, you can click on the name of the network and hold the mouse button for a few seconds. When a text box appears around the name, you can use it to rename the Wi-Fi profile. Please note that renaming a profile will not change the network name aka SSID, it will only change the connection’s display name on your computer.
You can change the order of the network by clicking on the “Organize” option of the application. You can move the network up and down to increase and decrease it. You can click the delete button to forget the wireless profile. You can also right-click on the tray icon to select the “Start on sign-in” option to start the application automatically with Windows.
Wifinian is open-source software. It is available in an optional portable version, but the portable version stores the settings in the AppData folder. This application is compatible with Windows 11/10/8/7. You can down this app from Microsoft Store.
