Dark Mode for OneNote on iOS has been rolled out. It lets a user change the appearance of the app interface elements from light to dark. This improves readability in low-light environments. If you want to switch to this mode, here’s a tutorial explaining how to enable Dark Mode in OneNote for iOS.
TIP: This post shows how to turn Dark Mode On or Off in OneNote or Outlook.
Enable Dark Mode in OneNote for iPhone or iPad
A pretty useful feature of Dark Mode is it easy on your eyes and helps you focus on your work. To enable Dark Mode in OneNote for the iPhone or iPad:
- Unlock your iPhone or iPad
- Go to Settings
- Locate Appearance
- Select Dark.
It is important to note that the Mode doesn’t simply change the OneNote pages properties but just the way things appear on screen including, text colors, text highlights, ink strokes, and table cells. Let us see the procedure in a bit more detail.
Unlock your iOS device (iPhone or iPad) and go to ‘Settings’.
Choose ‘Display & Brightness’ section.
Under ‘Appearance’ section, you’ll find two options,
- Light
- Dark
Select ‘Dark’ option to enable the Dark mode.
You can also set ‘Dark Mode’ to turn on automatically at sunset, or at a specific time. For this, follow the procedure as described above but select ‘Automatic’ option under ‘Display & Brightness’. Then, tap ‘Next’ and choose ‘Options’ to set your preferred schedule for Dark Mode.
As an alternative to the above method, you can use your iPhone’s Control Center to turn Dark Mode on or off at any time quickly. If you own an iPhone X or later, pull down from the top-right corner of your iPhone and then press and hold the brightness control bar for a second.
Instantly, at the bottom of the brightness control, you’ll find three options,
- Dark Mode Off
- Night Shift
- True Tone
Simply tap the ‘Dark Mode’ circle to enable the option.
Now, when you open OneNote on your iPhone, it will appear in Dark Mode.
I hope it helps!
