The Windows Mobility Center is available on Windows 11/10 laptops and not on a desktop computer. If you want to use it on your desktop, then we will show you how you can enable and use the Windows Mobility Center on Windows 11/10 desktop computer as well.
If you try to open Windows Mobility Center on your desktop, you will see the following message:
Windows Mobility Center is available only on laptops
You might need the Windows Mobility Center on your regular desktop computer. For example, let’s assume that you are trying to access the Windows Presentation Settings quickly on a computer. Now, if you have the Windows Mobility Center enabled on your desktop computer, you can access the Presentation Settings easily. Similarly, this in-built panel contains other options that are equally important.
Before getting started, it is recommended to backup Registry and create a System Restore Point.
Enable Windows Mobility Center on Windows 11/10 desktop computer
To enable the Windows Mobility Center on Windows 11/10 desktop computer, follow these steps-
- Open Registry Editor
- Create AdaptableSettings and MobilityCenter keys
- Create SkipBatteryCheck and RunOnDesktop values
- Set their values to 1.
Read on to know the details.
Open the Registry Editor. For that, you can press Win+R, type regedit, and hit the Enter button. After opening the Registry Editor on your computer, navigate to this following path-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MobilePC\
In the MobilePC folder, you need to create two keys.
Right-click on the MobilePC folder, and select New > Key and give them the following names:
- AdaptableSettings
- MobilityCenter
If either of them is already present in that MobilePC folder, you do not need to create them again.
After creating those keys, select AdaptableSettings, right-click on the empty space on the right-hand side and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
You have to name it as SkipBatteryCheck. After creating, double-click on it, and set the value to 1, and save your change.
Now, go to the MobilityCenter, right-click on the empty space on your right-hand side, select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
This time, you have to name it as RunOnDesktop and set the value to 1.
Open Windows Mobile Center on Windows 10 desktop computer
If you have already followed all those steps, you can open the File Explorer, and paste this path-
%LocalAppdata%\Microsoft\Windows\WinX\Group3
Here you can find the executable file of Windows Mobile Center. You can double-click on the file to open the panel, and create its shortcut as well.
Hope this tutorial will be helpful for you.
