This solution requires you to check and test your Internet/Network connection. But, before you do this, restart your gaming PC or Xbox console as the case may be, and as well restart and/or power cycle (refer to the user manual) your internet device (router/modem). Console gamers can power cycle your Xbox by following the instructions in the guide on how to fix Xbox Error 0x82D40003 occurs when you launch a game.
Console gamers, to restart your Xbox, do the following:
- Press and hold the Xbox button on the controller to launch the Power center.
- When the options show, select Restart Console.
- Select Restart and wait until your console finishes the reboot.
After you have restarted your gaming and internet device, you can now proceed to test network connection on your gaming device.
Console gamers can test network connection on their device by following these instructions:
- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
- Select Profile & system> Settings > General > Network settings.
- Select Test network connection.
If the network connection test fails on the console, then it’s likely the Xbox console can’t resolve a valid DNS address to connect to the internet. So, to rule out this possibility, you can check and fix DNS isn’t resolving the Xbox server names issue that can prevent Xbox Live connection.
PC gamers to test network connection on your computer, do the following:
- Launch the Xbox Console Companion app.
- Select Settings > Network.
- Under Network status, make sure the app says Connected.
You can try the Complete Internet Repair Tool or the Network Reset feature if your Windows 11/10 gaming computer is not connected to the Internet. On the other hand, if the network status shows connected but the issue in hand persists, you can try resolving possible connectivity issues and fix Network and Internet connection problems on your gaming rig. Also, you can flush DNS on your PC and see if that helps.
In addition, if your computer is connected to the internet via VPN or proxy, you can uninstall your VPN software and/or remove any proxy server from your device and see if that helps.
Try the next solution if your gaming device isn’t having any internet/network connection issues but the error is not fixed.
4] Contact Xbox Support
At this point, if the issue is still unresolved after you have tried all suggestions in this post and the Xbox Live status is up and running, you can contact Xbox Support and see if they can provide any useful assistance to help resolve the issue in hand.
That’s it! Hope you find this post helpful.
