Epic Games Launcher is one of the best in the business. However, some users reported that Epic Games cloud sync is slow. Due to this, the changes made locally take much time to get uploaded to the cloud. In this post, we will talk about this issue and see what you can do to resolve it.
Fix Epic Games slow cloud sync
If you are fed up with Epic Games slow cloud sync, follow the below solutions to resolve the issue.
- Restart Epic Games
- Reboot the network
- Start Epic Games as administrator
- Repair the game that’s not saving
- Store files locally
- Reinstall Epic Games
Let us talk about them in detail.
1] Restart Epic Games
If your Epic Games is not working, the very first thing you need to do is restart the launcher. When closing the Epic Games launcher, make sure to close it not just by clicking on the cross icon but from the Task Manager as well. To do the same, open it by Ctrl + Shift + Esc, right-click on Epic Games, and click on End Task. Once done, open Epic Games and check if the issue is resolved.
2] Reboot the network
Sometimes, the network that you are connected to can have some temporary glitches due to which Epic Games is failing to establish a connection with its cloud. In that case, the first you need to do is disconnect your Internet and then connect to it. If that is to no avail, turn off your router, unplug all the cables, wait for a minute, plug the cables back in, and start the network device. Finally, connect to the network and check if the issue is resolved.
3] Start Epic Games as an administrator
In case the Epic Games launcher is unable to access some of the files, it will fail to sync them. In that case, our best bet is to launch the launcher with administrative access. To do the same, just right-click on the Epic Games launcher and select Run as administrator. You will get a UAC prompt, where you need to click Yes.
4] Repair the game that’s not saving
If there is a particular game that’s not saving and is stuck on Cloud Sync, you must repair its game files, as it is very likely that due to some corrupted or missing game files, your game is not being uploaded. However, we do that, and it is important to restart Epic Games so that no instance of the game is running in the background. To do the same, open Task Manager, right-click on Epic Games, and click on End Task. Do the same with your game. Once done, follow the steps mentioned below to verify the integrity of game files.
- In Epic Games Launcher, go to your Library.
- You then have to go to the game and click on the three dots.
- Finally, click on Verify.
Hopefully, this will do the job for you.
5] Store files locally
Epic Games provides its users with an option to save the progress on their computer locally. For this, we have to disable the Cloud Save feature. Do keep in mind that this is a workaround and not a solution as we wait for Epic Games to release an update addressing this bug. To do the same, follow the steps mentioned below.
- Launch the Epic Games Launcher.
- Go to your profile icon present at the top right corner of the window.
- Click on Settings.
- Untick the box associated with Enable Cloud Saves.
- Close Epic games settings.
Alternatively, disable the feature for a particular game by clicking on the three dots associated with that title and disabling the Enable Cloud Saves option.
You can now play the game with ease.
6] Reinstall Epic Games
If you don’t want to store files locally and want to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, or if after disabling the Cloud sync feature, your game is in that loop, uninstall the app and install a fresh version of the same. Hopefully, your issue will be resolved.
Hopefully, your issue is resolved.
