Fix Roblox Continue installation without flag settings
If you are asked to continue installation without flag settings in Roblox, follow the solutions mentioned below.
- Launch Roblox and/or RobloxPlayerLauncher as an administrator
- Clean Roblox App Data
- Allow Roblox through the Firewall
- Reinstall Roblox the right way
Let us talk about them in detail.
1] Launch Roblox and/or RobloxPlayerLauncher as an administrator
When you try to install Roblox, it creates certain files on your system that get triggered during the installation and launching process. One such file is RobloxPlayerLauncher, Roblox automatically triggers and uses it whenever required. However, since we are facing this issue, we can say that it’s not actually triggering the said file. In that case, first of all, start Roblox with administrative privileges. If starting Roblox in elevated mode did not do the trick, follow the steps mentioned below to start RobloxPlayerLauncher as admin.
- Hit Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Enter %appdata% and hit Enter.
- Navigate to Local > Roblox > Versions.
- You will a number of folders there, we need to decipher which one is the latest using the Date Modified column. Open the latest folder.
- Now, right-click on RobloxPlayerLauncher and select Run as administrator.
- Click Yes when the UAC prompt appears.
This will most likely update your Roblox without showing you the error in question.
2] Clean Roblox App Data
If starting RobloxPlayerLauncher with administrative privileges didn’t work for you, let us remove the App Data of Roblox and allow it to create new ones. We do this to flush out any corruption that may have triggered this issue. To clean Roblox app data, you are required to follow the steps mentioned below.
- Open Run.
- Enter %localappdata% and click Ok.
- Look for the Roblox folder and delete it.
Once the folder is deleted, launch Roblox with administrative privileges and check if the issue is resolved.
3] Allow Roblox through the Firewall
If you’re having trouble installing Roblox, it could be because your third-party antivirus software or Windows Security is blocking it. In some cases, you may need to temporarily disable your antivirus to install and play Roblox without any issues. However, keep in mind that disabling your antivirus software can leave your computer vulnerable to threats and risks. To avoid this, you can choose to add Roblox to the exception list in your antivirus software so that it won’t be flagged as a threat.
4] Reinstall Roblox the right way
If nothing worked, our last resort is to uninstall Roblox and reinstall it again. However, the normal method might not work. So, follow the instructions mentioned below to reinstall Roblox.
- First of all, uninstall Roblox.
- Download Roblox from roblox.com.
- Try installing Roblox the normal way, if it doesn’t work, go to the App Data folder and run RobloxPlayerLauncher (as we did in the first solution).
Let it run and resolve the issue for you.
Hopefully, you will be able to resolve the issue using the solutions mentioned here.

Why is Roblox refusing to install?
Roblox is not refusing to install, it’s your security application that’s being a little extra overprotective and classifying Roblox as a malicious program. To prevent antivirus software from detecting Roblox as a threat, add it to the exception list. The process varies depending on your antivirus. In Avast, go to Home > Settings > General > Exclusions and select Roblox. For AVG, go to Home > Settings > Components > Web Shield > Exceptions. You can follow a similar process for other antivirus software.
