When playing Windows Media Player on Windows 11/10/8/7 you experience a Video Flickering issue, then this post may help you. Windows Media Player not only allows you to store and view music, pictures, or video files but sync them to a portable device for enjoying on the go. Windows Enterprise and Windows Pro LTSB (Long Term Service Branch) editions do not include Windows Media Player, but Windows Pro and Home do.
Windows Media Player Video Flickering
If you face a Video Flickering issue in Windows Media Player on your Windows 11/10 PC, do the following:
- Turn Media Features Off and then On them again
- Update Graphics Drivers
- Turn Off Hardware Acceleration.
For Windows 7 users, Microsoft has also released a hotfix to resolve an issue, where the video image flickers when you configure Windows Media Player to display the subtitles of a DVD in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
This problem occurs because of an issue in the way that the Enhanced Video Renderer (EVR) handles subtitle notifications. To resolve this issue download and apply Fix 291755 from KB975806.
