- Add the game through the firewall or disable the Antivirus software
- Switch to High-performance mode

Let’s talk about them in detail.
1] Update your Graphics Driver
There can be several reasons why a game is crashing on your PC, and an outdated Graphics Driver is one of them. It not only affects your game and causes technical issues but also leaves an impact on the overall performance of your computer.

2] Close unnecessary tasks and programs
A lot of games do not function well when you are using other resources that can compete with them for resources. If you are doing the same then it is better to quit tasks and programs that are taking lots of resources.
To do the same, click Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager, go to the process tab, select all resource-intensive tasks and then click End Tasks. Now, launch the game and see if it still crashes or not.
3] Add the game through the firewall or disable the Antivirus software
Antivirus software and Firewall not only block malware and viruses but game files also. It detects the game as a potential threat and blocks its important file, stopping it from launching properly. In such cases, you can either disable the antivirus software temporarily or add the game through the firewall. Most players don’t deem it fit to disable antivirus and take risks with viruses and if you are one such gamer, follow the prescribed steps to add the game through the firewall.
- Launch the Windows Defender Security Center app.
- Select Firewall and Network Protection and then on the “Allow an app through firewall” option.
- Click the “Change Settings” button.
- Now, go to the app list and select Gotham Knights. In case you don’t find the game in the list, you can add it, click on the “Add another app” option and choose Gotham knights’ executable file.
- Once done, allow the game on both Private and Public Networks and click on the OK button to apply changes.
Now, launch the game and hopefully, this will do the job. If you don’t want to do all this, just disable Windows Defender Firewall temporarily.
4] Switch to High-performance mode
According to some users, configuration settings other than the high-performance option are causing the issue in question, and switching it can resolve the issue. We are going to do the same and see if it resolves the issue. To do the same, go to the Search bar and type Settings. Go to System> Display > Graphics, select your game, click on Options and select High-performance mode. Launch the game and check if you can now play the game.
5] Verify game files
One of the reasons why you may see this issue is corrupted game files. Sometimes, when downloading an update or installing it, users tend to end the program in the middle, leaving some files to go missing. In order to resolve the issue, we can repair the game files using the Steam launcher.
- Open Steam.
- Go to Library.
- Right-click on the game and select Properties.
- Go to the Local Files tab and then click on Verify the integrity of game files.
After running the utility, launch the game and your issue will be resolved.
