3. Now, use the toggle in front of the Windows Security notification icon to hide or show its icon.

2] Via Registry Editor

If you don’t want to do it from Settings, try doing the same from the Registry Editor.

Launch Registry Editor from the Start Menu and go to the following location.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender Security Center\Systray

Double-click on HideSystray and set its value to 1 to hide and 0 to show the Windows Security icon.

Note: If you are not seeing this key, right-click on the right window, and select New > Dword 32-bit, and name it “HideSystray”.

3] Via Group Policy Editor

Launch Group Policy Editor from the Start Menu and navigate to the following location.

Computer Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Windows Components \ Windows Security \ Systray

Click Systray, double-click “Hide Windows Security Systray”, select Enabled to hide, and Disabled to show the Windows Security icon on the Taskbar.
