1] Customize Google Maps routes to avoid tolls
On your computer, open Google Maps.
Click ‘Directions’.
Provide input by clicking points on the map, type an address, or add a place name.
Next, select ‘Options’.
In a new window that opens, check the box marked against
- Tolls
- Highways
Make your selections here.
If you’re using Maps in Lite mode, you won’t be able to use this feature.
2] Change your travel time
Google Maps also allows you to customize your travel date or time to let you discover the best route for your journey. Before you leave, you can get all the information related to the estimated traffic and transit schedules.
To change your travel time, follow the steps below.
On your computer, open Google Maps.
Choose ‘Directions’ adjacent to Google Maps Search bar.
Enter the details to get directions. After you’ve got your directions, click ‘Schedule Explorer’ link (visible as 3 horizontal lines).
Now, hit the drop-down arrow in the upper left corner and select ‘Leave Now’ option.
To change your travel dates or times, select ‘Depart at’ or ‘Arrive by’.
If you have more than one destination, you won’t be able to use this feature.
