How to change Cell Color in Google Sheets

1] Coloring cells with Fill Color
Select the cell that you want to color, then click the Fill Color button.
On the Fill Color menu, you can change the cells to a standard color, or if you want a different color than usual, click the Add Custom Color button under the Custom section.
Choose a color, then click OK.
The cell is colored.
If you want to remove the color from the cell, select the cell or range containing the color, click the Fill Color button, and select Reset from the menu.
2] Coloring cells with conditional formatting
Select the entire table, click the Color Fill button, then click Conditional Formatting from the menu.
A Conditional Format Rules pane will appear on the right.
Click the Add another new rule button.
Under Format Rules, click the ‘Format cells if’ list box and select an option. In this tutorial, we want to find the age in the table that is greater than thirty, so we select Greater Than.
Enter thirty. See the photo above.
Under Formatting Style, click the Fill Color button and select a color.
Then click Done.
Close the pane.
You will see the cell containing thirty-four highlighted.
If you want to remove the conditional formatting.
Ensure that the table is selected, then click the Color Fill button.
Click Conditional Formatting.
When the Conditional Format Rules pane appears, select the rule on the pane.
Click the Color Fill button and select None.
The conditional formatting is removed.
Now close the pane.
3] Coloring cells with Alternating Colors.
Ensure that the entire table is selected, click the Fill Color button, and select Alternating Colors from the menu.
An Alternating Colors pane will appear on the right.
Select a Style from the Default Styles menu, or you can create a custom style from Custom Styles. You can select a custom color for the header and other parts of the table.
Then click Done.
Close the pane.
If you want to remove alternating colors, ensure that the table is selected, then click the Fill Color button.
Select Alternating Colors.
When the Alternating Colors pane opens, click Removing Alternating Colors.
Then click Done.
