Not everyone wants to use Microsoft Word, or in some situations, their company might force Google Docs upon them, therefore, they have little choice. Now, some folks may be wondering if it is possible to change orientation in Google Docs, and to that, we say, yes.
If you’re coming from Microsoft Word, please bear in mind that Google Docs does not allow users to change the orientation of parts of a page but, instead, the entire page. As we can see, there are limitations with Docs, but that is expected since it is primarily a cloud tool.
How to change Page Orientation in Google Docs
Nevertheless, changing the orientation, even if in limited form, is still a boon for anyone to take advantage of.

1] Go to Page Set Up
The first thing you must do is open a document, then navigate away to Page Set up. Do this by clicking on File, then below the drop-down menu, you will want to select Page Setup, and right away a small window should appear.
2] Change from Portrait to Landscape
The final step is to change the orientation to the one desired. By default, the orientation is set to portrait, so if you want to change it to landscape, we suggest clicking on that section. Bear in mind that the option to change the paper size and margins is also available.
You can also add a page color if necessary. When you’re done, click on OK to have the changes materialize in the document. Additionally, users could select Set As Default to ensure that whenever a new document is opened, the changes made here will appear above all else.
Now, we recommend changing to Landscape mode before adding content to the document. Editing the document’s orientation after could, in some cases, cause reformatting problems.
