If you have many tasks assigned to you, and you can’t keep up with them or have many flag items but missed an important one, or you want something to be done in time or set a meeting or an appointment, but you need a reminder to remind you about them. In Microsoft Outlook there is a feature that can remind you about the Task you need to do or look at.
What is an Outlook Task Reminder?
Task Reminder is Outlook message that pop up to remind you of something. You can use the Task reminder feature for tasks, appointments, and meetings.
In this tutorial, we will explain how to set a Task Reminder, how to delete a Task Reminder, and how to automatically set a Task Reminder.
How to set a Task Reminder in Outlook
Open Outlook.
On the Home page in the Tags group, click the drop-down arrow of the Follow Up button.
In the drop-down list, click Add Reminder.
A Custom dialog box will appear.
Inside the dialog box, you can customize the reminder.
In the Flag To section, type what you want to be reminded about.
In the section Start Date, enter a date.
In the section Due Date, enter a date.
The Reminder box below is already checked.
Below the Reminder Check box, enter the date and time you want the Task Reminder message to pop up.
On the left is a Sound button.
If the Sound button is selected, a Reminder Sound dialog box will appear. You can use the original sound or click Browse to navigate through your files to choose a sound.
Then click OK.
On the Custom dialog box, click OK.
The reminder is set.
How to delete a Task Reminder in Outlook
Click on the message that you have the Flag on, which is the reminder.
On the Home page in the Tags group, click the drop-down arrow of the Follow Up button.
In the drop-down list, click Clear Flag.

How to automatically set a Task Reminder in Outlook
Click File.
On the Backstage View, click Options.
An Outlook Options dialog box will appear.
On the left pane of the Outlook Options dialog box, click Task.
In the Task Options section, click the checkbox of Set reminder on tasks with due dates on the Task page.
Where you see Default remainder time, set a time.
Then click OK.
