In this post, we will help you how to delete a Page in Google Docs. When we create a document in Google Docs, sometimes, a little content is added to the last page. This adds an extra page to the Google Docs document. If we need to delete that page, we have to delete the content on that page. But there is a helpful trick to delete a page in Google Docs without deleting the content of that page. For this, you need to modify the Formatting. We have covered step-by-step instructions for that.
There is a simpler way to delete a page in Google Docs. You can easily delete a page in Google Docs with the keyboard using the Delete key or Backspace key. But, this option also deletes the content of that page. Hence, this option is useful if the content on a page is not important or if a blank page is inserted in between your Google Docs document.
How to delete a Page in Google Docs
The steps to delete a page in Google Docs by modifying the formatting are given below. Do note that this trick deletes the last page of a Google Docs document by shifting its content to the previous pages. If you want to delete a page in between your document, you have to use the Backspace key or Delete key. Here are the steps:
- Open your Google Docs document
- Select all the content in your document by pressing the Ctrl+A hotkey
- Open the Format menu
- Access the Line & paragraph spacing section
- Select the Custom spacing. A Custom spacing box will pop up
- In that box, set Line spacing to 1
- Set Paragraph spacing to 0.
- Press the Apply button in that box.
Here, Line spacing defines the space between lines in a paragraph, and Paragraph spacing defines the spacing before and after a paragraph. After setting the Paragraph spacing to 0, the additional spacing before and after all the paragraphs will be removed and the content will be shifted to the previous pages.
This will automatically decrease the total page count in your document. Do note that these changes will be applied only to the selected text in a document. Hence, before applying these changes, make sure that you have selected the entire text in your document along with the images.
