A trackback is one of three types of linkbacks, methods for Web authors to request notification when somebody links to one of their documents. This enables authors to keep track of who is linking, and so referring, to their articles. If you have a WordPress blog then you have probably seen your trackbacks getting mixed with your comments. Most of the WordPress templates now provide the functionality to show trackbacks separately from your real comments while others don’t.
