If you want to disable all unmanaged or installed OneNote add-ins at once, here is how you can do that. Although OneNote doesn’t offer any option by default, you can make things happen with the help of the Local Group Policy Editor and the Registry Editor.

You can disable installed add-ins and block all unmanaged add-ins in Microsoft OneNote, using the Group Policy or Registry Editor. You need to install the administrative template for Office to use the Local Group Policy Editor method. To disable all unmanaged and installed OneNote add-ins via GPEDIT, follow these steps:
- Search for edit group policy in the Taskbar search box.
- Click on the individual search result.
- Navigate to Add-ins in User Configuration.
- Double-click on the Block all unmanaged add-ins setting.
- Select the Enabled option and OK button.
- Double-click on the Disable installed OneNote Add-ins setting.
- Select the Enabled option and click the OK button.

Then, navigate to the following path:
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Microsoft OneNote 2016 > OneNote Options > Add-ins
Here you can find two settings called:
- Block all unmanaged add-ins
- Disable installed OneNote Add-ins
The first option will help you block all the additional add-ins only if you use the List of managed add-ins setting. However, if you want to disable all add-ins irrespective of the filter, you need to use the second setting.
Either way, double-click on the respective setting, choose the Enabled option.
Then, click the OK button to save the change.
However, if you want to revert all changes, you need to open those two settings one after one, select the Not Configured option, and click the OK button to save the change.

How to block all unmanaged and installed OneNote add-ins
To disable all unmanaged and installed OneNote add-ins using Registry, follow these steps:
- Press Win+R to open the Run prompt.
- Type regedit > click the OK button > click on the Yes button.
- Navigate to onenote in HKCU.
- Right-click onenote > New > Key and name it resiliency.
- Right-click on resiliency> New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Set the name as restricttolist.
- Double-click on it to set the Value data as 1.
- Create another sub-key named security.
- Right-click on security > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Name it as disablealladdins.
- Double-click on it to set the Value data as 1.
- Click the OK button and reboot your computer.
Let’s check out these steps in detail.
First, you need to open the Registry Editor on your computer. For that, press Win+R > type regedit > click the OK button. If the UAC prompt appears, click on the Yes button.
Then, go to this path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\onenote
However, if you cannot find this path in the Registry Editor, you need to create it manually. First, right-click on Microsoft > New > Key and name it as office. Then, repeat the same steps to create all the sub-keys one after one.
Once the onenote key is created, you need to create two sub-keys here. For that, right-click on onenote > New > Key and name it resiliency.
Then, right-click on resiliency > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it as restricttolist.
Double-click on it to set the Value data as 1 and click the OK button.
After that, you need to create the second sub-key by following the same steps as mentioned above and name it as security. Following that, right-click on security > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and set the name as disablealladdins.
Double-click on it to set the Value data as 1 and click the OK button.
Once you are done with all those steps, close all windows and restart your computer to get the change.
Like the GPEDIT method, you can revert all changes. For that, you can remove those two REG_DOWRD values. To do that, right-click on each of them, select the Delete option and click the Yes button.
