1] Take a look at your POP settings
OK, so the first thing you might want to do here, is to check the POP settings within Gmail. This is where you will find most of the options designed to make changes to the mail app.
In order to navigate to the Settings area, click on the gear icon located at the top-right corner, then from there, select See all settings to open a new section. After that, please select Forwarding and POP/IMAP, then navigate to the section that says POP Download.
