Twitch streamers have a ton of options on how they can interact with viewers. One of those options is to make someone VIP on Twitch. A VIP is someone who receives a badge and other benefits such as being able to chat in slow mode, sub-only mode, or followers-only mode.
How to VIP someone on Twitch
It’s really important for streamers to have loyal viewers. There are a number of ways to reward loyal viewers, but one of them is the VIP role. If a streamer completes the “Build a Community” achievement by reaching 50 followers and 5 unique chatters, they can assign the VIP role to 10 of their loyal viewers. The more unique chatters a streamer has, the more VIP slots the streamer can give out.
There is an award for good performance. Streamers are rewarded with VIP slots based on the number of unique chatters in their chat per five new chatters. For each 5 new chatters, they will earn 10 more VIP slots and then 10 more at 50 new chatters. At 200 unique chatters, they will receive 100 total VIP slots.
How does VIP work on Twitch
Being a VIP member on Twitch is the next best thing to being a celebrity. Giving VIP to viewers gives them special badges and chat features that allow them to chat in specific situations. They can chat during a slow chat, sub-only chat, and follower-only chat. They can also share links to chats even if link sharing is turned off.
The VIP badge is an easy way for you to stand out! It will let your followers know that you are one of their favorites. However, this privilege is not without rules. VIPs must still abide by chat guidelines and can be timed out if they go too long off-topic or break any other type of rule.
