In this article, we show you how to merge two Facebook accounts with the same name. If you have two duplicate pages that you have access to, you can merge them using a few steps we will show you. Before you start the process of merging or linking these Facebook pages, you need to decide which one you want to keep. You can only keep one, and the other will be deleted permanently, and you cannot recover it.
The reasons for merging two Facebook accounts may vary from one user to another. Some may have created business pages with the same name and the same business, only to see them doing well and decide to merge them. Facebook offers to merge two duplicate pages and multiple pages for Facebook users in regions like North America.
Can I merge Facebook profiles?
Facebook says that there is no way to merge two or more Facebook profiles. They say it is against their community guidelines to have more than one account profile; hence, they cannot support merging the same. However, you can merge two Facebook accounts with the same names that represent the same motive, activity, or business.
TIP: If you have more than one Facebook profile account, you can delete the Facebook profile permanently and create pages.
How to merge two Facebook accounts with same name
Before you start merging two Facebook accounts, the two pages must meet the following requirements:
- You must be the administrator for the two duplicate accounts.
- The pages must have the same name and represent the same topic, or business.
- You can request a name change if you want to merge two pages with different names.
- The accounts must be in the same location if they are associated with a physical address.
- You must be in a location or region where multiple-page merging is allowed.
Ensure that there are no paid campaigns directed to the account you want to delete before you request a page merge.
If you want to merge two Facebook accounts with the same name and they meet the Facebook requirements, follow the steps below:
- Open your computer’s browser and go to Facebook.
- On the upper right side, click on your profile picture.
- Next, select Settings & privacy, and then click Settings.
- Go to New Page experiences > Merge Pages > Merge multiple pages > Start request.
- Now, you need to enter your password and follow the directions on your screen to complete the process.
Alternatively, if you cannot see the Merge Pages option, it means that your region is not supported. Luckily, you can use this link to go directly to the Facebook page merge. Enter your password and start the process as we did above. However, this does not support multiple-page merges; you can only link two similar pages.
If your accounts are on the Meta Business Manager, you can use this link to link them together.
NOTE: You cannot merge pages, even if they meet the requirements, if the two accounts are Facebook global pages or if you want to merge a verified page with an unverified account.

What happens after you merge two Facebook accounts?
Once you have successfully merged the two accounts, the check-ins and FB followers will be transferred from the account you deleted to the current page. The current page will not be changed; only more followers from the other page will be added to it. All the groups linked to the deleted account will now be associated with the account you decided to keep.
However, you will lose data and information from the account you deleted. For instance, all posts, reviews, usernames, photos, etc. will not be available, and you cannot recover them. We recommend that you download and keep anything you want to use from the account you want to delete before you start the merging process. Facebook will remove the page from its platform, and you cannot unmerge.
That’s all for now.
