In this tutorial, we will help you how to remove the Copilot icon from Search on Windows 11. When we open the Search box of Windows 11 or perform a search, we see the Microsoft Copilot icon (Ask Copilot) on the top right section of the Search pop-up. Clicking on that icon opens Copilot’s official webpage in a new tab of Microsoft Edge to ask queries. Those who don’t find this option useful can remove or hide the Copilot icon from Search using the Registry Editor. You have to sign in with an administrator account on your Windows 11 computer and perform a simple Registry tweak.
This Registry tweak won’t stop you from using Copilot from the Windows 11 taskbar or the Microsoft Edge Sidebar. It will only hide the Copilot icon from Windows 11 Search. Also, do note that applying this trick will disable Search Highlights in Windows 11 that show Suggested games (Games for you), Trending searches, Related images from the web, Trending news from the web, etc., in the Windows Search. You should also back up the Windows Registry before tweaking any setting(s).
