Graphing in Calculator allows you to plot graphs, solve simultaneous equations, and use variables. However, if for some reason, you want to turn off Graphing in Calculator on Windows, you can do that by following one of the two methods mentioned in this post.
Microsoft included the Graphing functionality in the Calculator app to create graphs and calculate numbers.
It is recommended to backup registry files or create a System Restore point before you begin.
Disable Graphing in Calculator on Windows 11/10
To disable Graphing in Calculator, we can use Gpedit (Group Policy Editor) or Rgedit (Registry Editor).
Using GPEDIT
To disable Graphing Mode in Calculator on Windows 11/10 using the Group Policy Editor, follow these steps-
- Press Win+R to open the Run prompt.
- Type gpedit.msc and hit the Enter button.
- Navigate to Calculator in User Configuration.
- Double-click on the Allow Graphing Calculator setting.
- Select Disabled.
- Click on Apply and OK buttons to save changes.
Open the Local Group Policy Editor on your computer. Although there are several methods, you can use the Run prompt to do that. Press Win+R to open the Run prompt, type gpedit.msc
, and hit the Enter button to get started. After opening the Local Group Policy Editor, navigate to this path-
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Calculator
On the right-hand side, you will see a setting called Allow Graphing Calculator. By default, it is saved as Not configured.
Double-click on it, select Disabled, and click on Apply and OK buttons to save the change.
Following that, you won’t find the Graphing feature in the Calculator app.
Using REGEDIT
To turn off Graphing in Calculator on Windows 11/10 using the Registry Editor, follow these steps-
- Search for regedit in the Taskbar search box.
- Click on the result to open Registry Editor.
- Navigate to the Calculator in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
- Double-click on AllowGraphingCalculator.
- Set the value as 0.
- Click OK to save the change.
Let’s check out these steps in detail.
First, open the Registry Editor. For that, search for regedit
in the Taskbar search box, and click on the corresponding result. Now, navigate to this path-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy Objects\{48D9938C-C77C-4455-A560-3C221694F697}User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Calculator
Or
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
If you are going to the second location mentioned above, you will have to create a Key called Calculator under Policies.
On the right-hand side, you can see a REG_DWORD value called AllowGraphingCalculator.
If not, right-click on the Calculator key, select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name it as AllowGraphingCalculator.
Then, make sure that the value is set as 0. If not, double-click on it, set the value as 0, and click the OK button to save the change.
That’s all!
