1] How to open the Calendar app on Windows 11 PC
While you can quickly open the calendar by clicking on the date and time icon in your taskbar, to open the Calendar app, open the Windows Search, and type Calendar. Open the app and you can start creating the events and manage the agenda. You can also pin the Calendar app in the Start menu and the taskbar if you want.
It’s a very simple app with a user-friendly interface. On one side you can see the calendar and in the left panel, you can see the added calendars, birthdays,s and holidays.
2] How to create an event in the Calendar App
Once the Calendar app is open, you can create an event here. Simply click on a date you want to create an event on and you will see a small pop-up window. Fill in the required details like the event name, date and time, reminder timings, and click on Save, and that’s it. You will see the event created on your calendar.
Click on the event created in the Calendar to see its details. You will be reminded according to the timings you have filled in. You can create as many events as you want in your Calendar app. You can also create birthday events like this in your Calendar.
3] Add details and people to your event
While creating the event, click on More Details and you can add a description of your event, add people to your event, create an online meeting, and send invites.

In the lower-left corner, you will a button to Add Calendars. Click on the button to add any country’s Holidays Calendar. Once you select the country of your choice, all the national holidays of that particular country will automatically be added to your Calendar app. You can also add the calendars for TV, MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL from here.
5] Plan your day with the Calendar App on Windows 11 PC
Not just adding the events and birthday, this app also helps you plan your entire day properly. It works more like your digital diary where you can fix the agenda of your entire day and also add reminders so that you don’t miss any important appointments. Click on the day from the top menu ribbon and start filling the agenda of your entire day. You can also fill these details week-wise or month-wise as per your own preferences. The app has a different dedicated logo for all your events- for example, if you are creating an entry for your lunch or breakfast, it will show an icon of cutlery or crockery and if you are adding a doctor’s appointment to your agenda, it will show the doctors sign.
6] How to sync your Calendar App across the devices
To sync your app across your devices and the other calendar apps like Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar, you have to add an account here. Click on the Settings icon sitting in the corner of the left panel in your app. Click on Manage accounts.
Click on Add Account and add the account you want to sync with the Calendar app on your Windows PC. Sign in with that account and grant the permissions to Windows. That’s it, the account will then be added to your Calendar app, and events created in all Calendar apps will merge in one app making things easier for you.
7] Personalize Your Calendar app
Windows 11 is pretty customizable and so are its apps. You can personalize the Calendar app on your Windows 11 PC. Open the Calendar app and click on the Settings icon in the left panel. Click on the Personalization tab and you can change the colors of your Calendar, change it to light mode, dark mode, or Windows mode.
The ‘Use my Windows mode’ option uses whatever mode that your computer is currently using, whether it’s light, dark, or custom mode. In the below screenshot, we’re using the ‘Dark mode’. There is also an option to add a background image in your Calendar app.

Click on the Settings icon in the lower-left corner and select Calendar Settings from the right panel. Here, you can customize and configure the Calendar app settings according to your requirements. You can change the first week of the day, your working days in the week, working hours, etc. There is also an option to add an alternate calendar here.
