If you are keen to learn how to use Windows Copilot to generate images, you are at the right place. Since its inception, Microsoft Copilot has been known for its AI-powered services like generating web search results and answers, writing a song/poem/creating a code, or generating AI images.
You can also generate AI images (powered by DALL-E 3) with Microsoft Copilot. So, here’s an expert guide on how to use Windows Copilot to generate images.
Can I generate images with Copilot?
Yes, you can create images with Copilot by adding a detailed description. Copilot uses the advanced AI of DALL-E 3, and crafts images based on your input, offering a simplified and user-friendly experience in creating custom visuals directly from descriptive text prompts.
A perfect chat assistant and the replacement for Cortana, Copilot is now also available as an Android and iOS app offering the same AI-powered experience on the go.
How to use Copilot to generate Images?
Powered by Bing AI, Copilot comes with all its features and hence, can generate images in the same way you would do with Bing AI. But the good thing is that you can generate your desired images through Copilot using your prompts and do not need Bing AI to access the images.
So, it becomes easier to generate images through Copilot. To get accurate results, you need only ensure that you enter a detailed prompt. There are three ways to generate images with Copilot.
1] Use Copilot on Windows
The first thing you must do is to install Copilot on your Windows 11 device and then enable Copilot in Personalization Settings.
Now, press the Win + C shortcut key combination to launch Copilot and it will appear on the right side of the screen.
Next, you need to write a detailed prompt in the Copilot chat box to make it generate images.
Make sure that you write a clear prompt describing the exact requirement and hit the Send button.
Copilot then takes a while to process your request and then it will generate 4 versions of the image. If you are happy with the results, you can click on any image and continue to edit it.
If not satisfied, you can select from the Copilot question suggestions and it will re-generate images accordingly.
Alternatively, you can customize the prompt as per your requirements.
Now, click on the image you like and it will open in Microsoft Edge since the images are created by the Bing Image Creator (powered by DALL-E).
Press the Download button to download the image, or Share, Save, or Customize the image here.

But if your Windows 11 device does not meet Copilot’s system requirements, you can use its website instead.
For this, visit the Microsoft Copilot website, select Designer on the right, type your prompt in the chat box and press Send.
Make sure it’s detailed to get the accurate results. For example, I wrote the below prompt:
Give me an image where a policeman is chasing a thief to catch him.
Next, Copilot took a while and generated four versions of the image.
But if you feel that you need more changes to the images, you can select from the Copilot’s suggestions.
For example, I selected Make it a Cartoon, and Copilot generated 4 more versions of the image in cartoon form.
