How to insert Header in Word document
Open Microsoft Word.

On the Insert tab in the Header and Footer group, click the Page Number button.
In the drop-down list, hover the cursor over the page number positions and select a style.
According to the position you selected, that’s where the page number will go.
How to change the format of the page numbers in Word
On the Insert tab in the Header and Footer group, click Page Number.
In the drop-down list, click Format Page Numbers.
A Page Number Format dialog box will pop up.

How to remove header and footer in Word for selected pages
To remove the header and footer in Word from the first page, double-click the header or footer area to make it active. The Header & Footer Tools section on Ribbon will get activated. On the Design tab, select the Different First Page check box.
