There might be some inconsistency with your default DNS server and thus, the Minecraft launcher download is stuck. In that case, switching to a public DNS server should help you fix the problem. Generally, configuring the Google DNS server helps. So, here are the steps to set up the Google DNS server on Windows 11/10:
- Firstly, evoke the Run dialog using Win+R, type ncpa.cpl in it, and press Enter to bring up the Network Connections window.
- After that, right-click on your active internet connection and choose the Properties option from the context menu.
- In the opened Properties dialog window, choose the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) option and then click on the Properties button.
- Now, select the Use the following DNS server addresses option and then enter the below values:
- Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
- Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4
- Next, navigate to the previous screen, choose the Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPV6) option, and tap on the Properties button.
- Then, select the Use the following DNS server addresses option and type the below values in the respective fields:
- Preferred DNS server: 2001:4860:4860::8888
- Alternate DNS server: 2001:4860:4860::8844
- Finally, press the Apply > OK button and see if the problem is fixed or not.
If this issue is occurring on your Xbox console, you can change to the Google DNS server using the below steps:
- On your home screen, press the Xbox button on your controller and click on the Profile & system > Settings option.
- Now, navigate to the General tab and click on the Network settings option.
- After that, choose the Advanced settings option, and then click on the DNS settings > Manual option.
- Next, enter 8.8.8.8 in the Primary DNS box and 8.8.4.4 in the Secondary DNS box.
- Finally, save new settings and restart your console and your router. See if you can install Microsoft Store on your Xbox or not.

10] Reinstall Microsoft Store
If the problem is still not resolved, you can reinstall Microsoft Store. There might be some corruption in the app, so restarting with a clean version of the app will fix the problem. To reinstall Microsoft Store, you can use Powershell. Here’s how:
Firstly, open Windows Powershell with administrator rights from the Start menu.
Now, enter the below command to reinstall Microsoft Store:

11] Download Minecraft Launcher Installer
If all the above solutions failed, you can download the desktop version of Minecraft from its official website. Minecraft Launcher can be downloaded from Microsoft Store as well as from the web. It is available on minecraft.net from where you can download the installer for Minecraft Launcher. After downloading the installer, double-click on the file and then follow the onscreen instruction to complete its installation. You don’t need to open and use Microsoft Store for that.
