Monster Hunter World is a popular action role-playing game (RPG) available on multiple platforms, such as PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. However, even though the game is available in multiplayer, it does not support cross-platform play. This means that if you are on Xbox and your friend is on PlayStation, you cannot play together. Hence, a common question that many gamers have is whether Monster Hunter World cross-platform is going to be available.
Why is the Monster Hunter World cross-platform not available?
Monster Hunter World cross-platform won’t have cross-platform support. The game was initially published in 2018, and over the years, the developers have shown zero interest in introducing cross-platform support. So, it is safe to assume that the developers aren’t going to offer us cross-platform support.
There are multiple reasons why cross-platform gaming support isn’t available in Monster Hunter World. The issue can be technical or logistical.
The game was originally published for Xbox, Playstation, and later PC. Each platform has its tech stack and online infrastructure, and synchronizing multiple online platforms is often challenging for developers.
Another thing is that when the game was published, there wasn’t really a wide buzz about making it cross-platform. Also, the overall tech frameworks weren’t very robust for cross-platform support.
Lastly, introducing cross-platform gaming support to older consoles like PlayStation 4 or Xbox Series S is a challenge due to limited technological frameworks. Hence, it is obvious that we won’t see cross-playing introduced to Monster Hunter worlds.
