We love to try new music players, for they all have something interesting to offer, even if the design is the only aspect. Over the years, we’ve used several different music players, but for the most part, returning to VLC Media Player or even Windows Media Player tends to be the final outcome of the experiment.
Nevertheless, we’re still not going to end our search of finding the best music player out there. The latest we’re about to look at is one that goes by the name, Notation Player. This is not your regular player and is likely the unique we’ve seen in a very long time.
Notation Player for Windows PC
At first glance, it’s clear that Notation Player was not designed with the regular music listener in mind. No sir, this is for those who have a deeper love for music. Those who study music and are capable of reading the notes, they would likely have a field day with Notation Player.
We say this because it’s possible to play music and see the notes right before your eyes. It can also provide the lyrics of some songs, so that’s a decent addition. Bear in mind – this thing doesn’t playback MP3 or any other popular music format. Only .MID, .CAR and .NOT are supported here.
To give the player a test run, we had to go looking for a MIDI file online. If you ever wanted to know what the Sephiroth MIDI theme looks like in notes, then now is your chance.
Now, seeing the notes was quite impressive, although, we barely understood what we were seeing. We’re not music writers, so please keep up with us here.
It’s possible to study the notes as the music plays, but most important, the notes can be printed for further reference in a class or wherever else. It’s quite interesting, and although we did not leave this software with the need to learn how to create music, it does make us appreciate the creators even more because this isn’t easy.
Finally, if you’re not sure where to get MIDI files, just click on File, and then Download MIDI files from the Internet. Your default web browser should now come into focus with a new web page.
Overall, Notation Player is a good software and you can download it from the official website.
