If Oculus Assistant Service keeps stopping, execute the following solutions to resolve the issue.
- Update Voice Command App

1] Update Voice Command App
One of the major reasons why the Oculus Assistant Service stops time and again is a bug in the Voice Command app. The issue seems to be prevalent across various devices all around the globe. To update the app, follow the prescribed steps.
- Go to the Settings of Oculus.
- Navigate to Apps > Updates.
- Now, check if the Voice Commands App update is available.
- Download and install the available updates.
If this method didn’t work, follow the alternative method mentioned below to update the app.
- Go to Settings > Library > Oculus Apps.
- Click on the three dots, Details, and then Updates.
- Finally, restart the device and your app will be updated.
After updating the Oculus app, check if the issue is resolved.
2] Restart Oculus’s WiFi
You may also encounter this issue because of some network glitch. The best way to resolve the issue, in that case, is by turning off and on the WiFi of your Oculus device. To do the same, launch Quick Settings and click on the WiFi icon. Then, use the toggle to disable the WiFi of your device. Finally, turn it back on and see if the issue is resolved.
If this doesn’t work, try power cycling your router. This flushes out any glitches in your network as well as the network devices. Follow the prescribed steps to do the same.
- Turn off your router.
- Unplug all its cables.
- Wait for 30 seconds, turn on your device as well as plug in your cables.

3] Disable Voice Commands

- Go to System.
- Navigate to Keybaord and then enable all the options.

5] Turn on Hey Facebook and App Sharing from Settings
The assistant service will keep on stopping if it is not able to access the modules essential for its operation. In that case, we need to turn on Hey Facebook and App Sharing feature. To do the same, follow the prescribed steps.
- First of all, reinstall the Oculus app on your mobile.
- Then on your Oculus device, go to Settings > Experimental Features.
- Enable “Hey Facebook”.
- Go back and then to Accounts.
- Finally, enable App Sharing.

- In the Oculus browser, go to the Menu by clicking on the three vertical dots.
- Select the Clear Browsing Data option.
- Now, select Begining of Time from the drop-down menu and click on the Clear Data button.
Finally, restart your device and see if the issue is resolved.
7] Reset Oculus to Factory Settings
If nothing worked, your last resort is to reset the Oculus device to factory reset. To do the same, you can either use the Meta Quest App or the built-in Settings of a headset.
To reset the Oculus headset using Quest App, follow the prescribed steps.
- Launch the Meta Quest App, and go to Devices.
- Go to Settings > More Settings > Advanced Settings.
- Finally, click on Factory Reset and then Reset.
If you want to perform a Factory reset using the headset, follow the prescribed steps.
- Turn off your headset, and press the Power and Volume down buttons simultaneously.
- Once the Boot screen appears, go to Factory Reset.
- Select Yes, erase and factory reset.
Make sure to not install all the apps during the setup process. Finally, check if the issue is resolved.
