Follow the steps below to pair your Microsoft Modern Keyboard with a Fingerprint ID.
1] Connect the in-box USB cable to your Surface or Windows device and your keyboard.
This is also how you charge Microsoft Modern Keyboard with Fingerprint ID. You may need to charge the keyboard at first use. While charging, the white LED above the up arrow key will blink. When fully charged, the white LED will be solid. When your batteries are low and need to be charged, a red LED will blink.
2] Turn on your Microsoft Modern Keyboard with Fingerprint ID by sliding the power switch to on.
3] On your Surface or Windows PC, tap the pop-out toast notification message in your screen’s bottom right corner.
The keyboard driver will then download/install and automatically pair Microsoft Modern Keyboard with Fingerprint ID to your Surface or Windows PC. If you miss the toast notification message or cannot tap on it, turn the keyboard off and on to restart the pairing process.
