Having the right BitTorrent client for downloading Torrents is very important. Yes, we agree that there are many such programs for Windows 10 out there, but you know what? Sometimes we have to try new things to see if we can have a better experience. Today, we would like to take the time to discuss PicoTorrent. We like it because it is lightweight when compared to some of the popular choices. Let’s face it, guys, uTorrent is no longer what it used to be, so maybe it’s time to switch.
By using little memory, we believe this one of the tools folks should experiment with. Furthermore, the user interface is not bad at all. Nothing out of the ordinary because we’ve seen it all before, we just enjoy simple interfaces that are straight to the point.
PicoTorrent For Windows PC
Before going forward, we should point out that the tool is written on C++, and is based on Rasterbar-libtorrent. Note, however, that PicoTorrent only uses Boost.Random and Boost.System from Rasterbar-libtorrent, so there is not a broad reliance.
1] Add torrents
The first thing we suspect you might want to do is to download torrents. Bear in mind we do not support the downloading of illegal files. Now, in order to begin your download, please click on File, then select Add Torrent or Add Magnet Link(s).
To start the download, you will need to have the torrent or magnet files on your computer.
Alternatively, you could simply make PicoTorrent your default, then automatically load torrent files into the system through the web browser.
2] View
By clicking on the View tab, the user should see several options, all of which are important in some way. For example, we have the option to show more details and the status bar. The filter section also provides a few options, so you might want to consider looking there.
3] Preferences
From the View tab, one will come across Preferences. Here, the user will come to grips with a ton of things to play around with. You can set PicoTorrent to launch automatically every time the system restarts, show information in the notification area, limit the download and upload speeds, and more.
Now, in terms of how well it works for downloading torrents, it is how you’d expect. There is nothing different when compared to other similar tools. The most important thing is that it doesn’t use a lot of system resources, so if that’s your thing, then give PicoTorrent a chance.
Download the tool directly from the official website.
