Razer Synapse is configuration software for users with Razer laptops and peripherals. It lets you configure controls and assign macros to any of your Razer peripherals. By default, Razer Synapse is set to launch on Windows startup. It means that whenever you turn on your computer, Razer Synapse will start automatically. But for some users, Razer Synapse is not opening on startup in Windows 11/10. If such a thing happens to you, you can use the solutions provided in this post to fix the issue.

If Razer Synapse is not opening on startup in Windows 11/10, follow the suggestions provided below to fix the problem. But before you proceed, check your System Tray. By default, Razer Synapse is minimized to your System Tray when you start your system. If it is running in the background, you will see its icon in the System Tray. If you see its icon in the System Tray, you can launch it from there.

  1. Check for updates manually
  2. Check if it is enabled in Startup apps
  3. Check Razer Synapse auto launch settings
  4. Repair Razer Synapse
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Razer Synapse
  6. Place the Razer Synapse desktop shortcut in the Startup folder
  7. Use the Task Scheduler

Let’s see all these fixes in detail.

1] Check for updates manually

We suggest you check for updates manually. If you are using the outdated version of Razer Synapse, the problem should get fixed after updating the app. The following instructions will guide you on this:

  1. Launch Razer Synapse.
  2. After getting launched, it should appear in the System Tray.
  3. Click on the System Tray and right-click on the Razer Synapse icon.
  4. Click Check for Updates.

2] Check if it is enabled in Startup apps

Startup apps start automatically on system startup. In Windows, you can enable or disable the startup apps. This feature is available in the Task Manager and Windows 11/10 Settings. If you have a shared computer, it is possible that someone has disabled Razer Synapse in Startup apps. Check if it is disabled or not.

Enable Razer Synapse in Startup apps

Follow the steps written below:

  1. Open the Task Manager.
  2. Select the Startup apps tab. After Windows 11 2022 Update, all the tabs in the Task Manager have been shifted to the left side.
  3. Check the Status of Razer Synapse.
  4. If its Status shows Disabled, right-click on it and select Enable.

This should fix your issue. If the Razer Synapse is already enabled in Startup apps but it is not opening on Windows startup, try the next solution.

3] Check Razer Synapse auto launch settings

Check Razer Synapse settings. Incorrectly configured Razer Synapse settings also prevent it from opening on Windows startup. Go through the following instructions:

  1. Open Razer Synapse.
  2. Click on the gear-shaped icon on the top right side just before the Minimize button.
  3. Select the General category from the left side.
  4. Both the options under the Auto Launch sections should be enabled. If not, enable them.

4] Repair Razer Synapse

Sometimes, the issues occur due to corrupted files. Windows 11/10 lets you repair the software you are experiencing issues with. If the above fixes did not help, repairing the Razer Synapse should fix your problem. Follow the steps written below:

  1. Open Windows 11/10 Settings.
  2. Go to “Apps > installed apps.” In Windows 10, you will see the Apps & features option in place of Installed apps.
  3. Locate the Razer Synapse app.
  4. Select it and click Modify. In Windows 11, first, click on the three horizontal dots and then click Modify.
  5. Click REPAIR.

Repairing the Razer synapse has fixed the problems of many users. Hence, it should work for you too.

5] Uninstall and reinstall Razer Synapse

If the problem still persists, clean install Razer Synapse after uninstalling it completely. It should work. The steps to uninstall Razer Synapse completely are mentioned below:

Open Windows 11/10 Settings and go to “Apps > Installed apps.” If you have not installed the latest Windows 11 2022 Update, you will see Apps & features in place of Installed apps. Now, locate Razer Synapse. Select it and click Uninstall. In Windows 11, first, click on the three horizontal dots next to it and then click Uninstall. Follow the on-screen instructions on the uninstallation wizard. If you have installed Razer Cortex along with the Razer Synapse, uninstall it too.

Now, open File Explorer and go to the following address.

C:\Program Files (x86)

Locate the Razer folder and delete it. Now, go to the following location in File Explorer.

C:\ProgramData

If you do not find the ProgramData folder, enable the hidden files and folder in File Explorer. Locate and delete the Razer folder. Now, download the latest version of Razer Synapse from the official website and install it again. This should help.

6] Place the Razer Synapse desktop shortcut in the Startup folder

Windows 11/10 has a startup folder. When you place the shortcut of any app inside this folder, Windows will start that app automatically on system startup. If despite trying the above fixes, the problem persists, you can take the advantage of the Startup folder.

Open Razer Synapse using the Startup folder

To open the Startup folder, follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Open the Run command box (Win + R).
  2. Type shell:startup and click OK.

The above command will open the Startup folder. Now, copy the Razer Synapse desktop shortcut and paste it into the Startup folder. If the Razer Synapse shortcut is not available on your desktop, follow the steps written below:

  1. Click on Windows Search.
  2. Type Razer Synapse.
  3. Right-click on it and select Open file location.
  4. Now, copy the Razer Synapse shortcut and paste it into the Startup folder.

After performing the above steps, the Razer Synapse app will launch automatically on system startup.

7] Use the Task Scheduler

Task Scheduler is a great app in Windows 11/10 that lets you schedule tasks on your system. Using it, you can open files and folders on system startup or on a particular date and time. If the Razer Synapse is not opening on system startup, you can schedule it to open automatically on system startup by using the Task Scheduler.

How do I fix Razer Synapse not opening on startup?

Razer Synapse will not open on system startup if you have disabled it in Startup apps. Also, check the auto-launch settings of Razer Synapse. Try repairing Razer Synapse, as it helped a lot of users fix the issue.
