If you want to remove haze from your Photos, read this post. We will show you how to dehaze photos using AI on a Windows 11/10 PC.
Haze is a layer of tiny particles in the air that make things look blurry or less clear when you look at them. In a photo, haze is usually caused by environmental conditions such as dust or fog that scatter light and affect the image at the moment of capture. Haze reduces the contrast, making the photo look washed out.
Remove Haze from your Photos using AI Tools
Removing haze from your photos can bring out details and make the colors pop. While some advanced cameras and smartphones automatically enhance photos to some extent, full dehazing typically requires post-processing in powerful photo editors like Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop. These are paid software requiring a subscription to access their full range of features. However, some free alternatives and AI-backed tools are also available that can perform dehazing on photos on a Windows 11/10 PC. In the following sections, we will show you how to dehaze photos using AI with the following three tools:
- Image Dehaze by AILabTools
- Upscale.media’s AI Dehaze
- WorkinTool Dehaze Photos Online
Let us see these in detail.
1] Image Dehaze by AILabTools
AILabTools’ Image Dehaze is an online tool that uses deep learning algorithms to remove hazy pixels from photographs. The tool not only removes the haze but also enhances the image more holistically. It intelligently adjusts colors and restores details that a basic filter might miss, resulting in a more balanced and natural-looking image.
Image Dehaze is particularly useful for landscape photography where weather conditions often cause haziness in images. To use the tool, visit AILabTools’s Image Dehaze page in your web browser using this link and sign up for a free AILabTools account. You can register with Google or an email address. Upon successful registration, you’ll receive 10 trial sessions per day and 5 free credits per month.
Next, click the Upload Image button. You’ll be redirected to AILabTools’ Image Editor in a new browser tab. Click the Open Image button. Be careful when clicking the button, as it’s located within an advertisement window that could direct you to unwanted or unsafe websites.
Next, browse your system and select the photo you want to dehaze. The editor will take a moment to load the image. Click the Image Dehaze option on the left and then click the Confirm button in the confirmation prompt. The AI will parse the image, removing haze and enhancing clarity.
Once the process is complete, you will see a preview of the dehazed image.
Click the Download button on top of the image preview to save the results to the desired location on your computer.
2] Upscale.media’s AI Dehaze
Upscale.media’s AI Dehaze is another AI-powered online tool designed to remove haze, fog, or mist from photos. The tool uses advanced algorithms to adjust the color, contrast, and details in landscape or outdoor photos taken in hazy conditions, producing clearer, more vibrant images without manual editing.
Upscale.media supports PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP, and HEIC image formats. You can batch-process your images, but the maximum size of individual files should not exceed 25 MB (in 1500 x 1500 px resolution).
To use the tool, visit Upscale.media’s official website in your web browser. Click the Signup button in the top-right corner and sign up for a free account. You’ll get 3 free credits and 3 free downloads per month to try the platform.
Next, visit the AI Dehaze page on Upscale.media using this link. Click the Upload Image button. Browse and select the image you want to dehaze or drag it to the editor’s interface.
Once the photo is uploaded, AI Dehaze will start working on the dehazing process. It might take up a few seconds. When the processing is done, you will see two options for the digital upscaling of your image: Normal upscaling to 2x and AI upscaling to 2x. For AI upscaling, you may use the Upscale to dropdown to increase image resolution by up to 4x while retaining natural image details. Please note that Upscale by 2x only supports images below 2500 x 2500 px, and Upscale by 4x only supports images below 1500 x 1500 px.
You can also toggle the Enhance Quality button to enhance the image by balancing the sharpness/softness and removing artifacts while preserving its natural aspect.
You may hover over any desired area to preview the results when your image is processed. Then, click the Download Image button to save the enhanced image on your system.
3] WorkinTool Dehaze Photos Online
WorkinTool Dehaze Photos Online is a free web-based tool for quickly enhancing the clarity of photos affected by haze or unwanted fog, making them look more vivid and professional with minimal effort. Like the other tools, it uses deep learning to remove haze from images and enhance them by correcting the color of the sky, oceans, mountains, clouds, and other details impacted by weather conditions.
The best part is, you may use WorkinTool’s image dehaze service at no cost and edit as many pictures as you like. However, there’s a size restriction of 2MB for each uploaded file. The tool supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, and BMP image formats and automatically deletes the uploaded files within 24 hours from its servers.
To visit WorkinTool Dehaze Photos Online, click this link. Then click the Plus icon located in the center of the screen. Browse and select the photo you want to dehaze and click the Convert button (The service doesn’t require you to sign up before using it).
The conversion process will begin and you’ll soon see Before and After images for comparison. Next, click the Download button to download the image.
Despite being completely free, we listed this tool in the end because the results of our testing were mixed. While some pictures came out well, others did not meet our expectations (compared to other tools). Try it yourself to see if it works for you.
I hope you find this useful.

How to remove haziness from a picture?
Several online and offline tools (both free and paid) are available to remove haze from photos on a Windows 11/10 PC. While tools like GIMP and Photoshop allow you to adjust contrast and clarity to reduce haze in photos manually, some AI-powered tools such as WorkinTool Dehaze Photos Online and Let’s Enhance automatically handle haze reduction to bring out details and improve the overall picture clarity.
How do you reduce haze in photography?
You may attach a Circular Polarizer filter to your camera lens to reduce reflections and cut through some haze while taking photos in outdoor settings. Alternatively, you may use the dehaze filter in software like Adobe Lightroom to reduce or remove haze from your photos. Overusing the dehaze filter can lead to unnatural-looking images, so use just enough dehaze to improve the image without making it look artificial.
