This article will help you show or hide the Collections button in the Microsoft Edge browser on your Windows 11/10 PC. Collections feature allows users to gather and manage related information they find while browsing the web. However, if you do not like to use the Collections functionality in the Microsoft Edge browser, it is better to get rid of it from the toolbar. There is no need to install a browser extension or third-party software since Microsoft Edge has this option in-built.
Previously, the Collections feature was available only in Microsoft Edge Developer and Canary editions. However, now you can enable Collections and get started with this feature in any stable version. However, if it doesn’t help you in any way, and you want to get rid of the toolbar button, you can follow this tutorial.
Show or hide Collections button in Edge browser
You may show or hide the Collections button in the Microsoft Edge browser on your Windows 11/10 PC using any of these methods:
- Hide the Collections button using the Collections icon
- Show or Hide the Collections button using the Settings menu
- Show or Hide the Collections button from Edge Settings
Let us see this in detail.
1] Hide the Collections button using the Collections icon
Launch the Edge browser on your Windows PC. The Collections feature is enabled by default in Microsoft Edge, so you should find the icon in the top-right corner of the Edge toolbar. Right-click the icon and select the ‘Hide from toolbar‘ option from the dropdown menu. You will see that the Collections button will disappear instantly from the Edge’s toolbar.
2] Show or Hide the Collections button using the Settings menu
Click the three-dots icon (Settings and more) in the top-right corner of the browser window or press Alt+F. This will open the Edge Settings menu.
In the Settings menu, hover your mouse over the More tools option. A submenu will appear, where you will see a Collections option on top of the list.
Right-click the Collections option and select the ‘Show in toolbar/Hide from toolbar‘ option. If you click the ‘Hide from toolbar’ option, the Collections button will disappear, and if you click the ‘Show in toolbar’ option, the Collections button will reappear in the Edge’s toolbar. You will see only one of these options at a time, depending on the current status of the Collections button in your Edge browser.
3] Show or Hide the Collections button from Edge Settings
Click the three-dots icon in the Edge browser’s top-right corner to open the Edge Settings menu. Select Settings from the list of items that appear. The Edge Settings page will open in a new tab. Now, you need to switch to the Appearance tab from your left-hand side.
There is another way to open the Appearance panel in the browser settings. You need to type edge://settings/appearance in the address bar and hit the Enter button. This will open the Edge Settings page, with the Appearance tab selected by default.
On the Appearance tab, scroll down to the Customize toolbar section. Then scroll down a little further to the ‘Select which buttons to show on the toolbar:‘ section.
Then, you can find an option called the Collections button. By default, it should be turned on. You need to toggle the button to the ‘off’ position to hide the Collections button from Edge’s toolbar.
This is how you can easily show or hide the Collections button in the Microsoft Edge browser (using the way you prefer). I hope you find this tutorial informative and useful.
