If your Windows 11/10 throws up a message – Something went wrong, but you can try again – MSA during OOBE Setup, then here are workarounds to help you resolve the issue. Microsoft has acknowledged this issue, said that it appears somewhere just past the completion of the Out of Box Experience (OOBE) setup in Windows, and offered workarounds.
Something went wrong, but you can try again – MSA
When you run Windows setup, you have to pass through multiple setup screens that require you to log in with or sign up for a Microsoft Account. After successfully completing the Out of Box Experience (OOBE) to set up a new Windows device or after resetting a device, once you reach the Desktop, you might see this error screen. You might even get this error when you try to connect to the Internet for the first time on a new device or new install of Windows that has not previously connected to the internet during the Out-of-box Experience (OOBE).
If you face this issue, try the following suggestions offered by Microsoft.
1] If you do not have any work open
When the error message appears on screen, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete on the keyboard.
Then, moving the mouse cursor to the lower right corner of the screen, select the Power button, and click Restart.
2] If you have some work open
It is advisable to follow these steps when you have some work open that you do not want to lose.
Press Ctrl+Shift+F10 on the keyboard simultaneously.
Then, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc on the keyboard to open the Task Manager.
Go to the ‘Details’ tab. Once there, find the wwahost.exe process.
Right-click on that process and select End task from the context menu.
After you have followed these steps in either of the two methods, the error message should not appear on your computer screen again.
How do I fix my OOBE settings?
To fix the OOBE settings error, you can restart your computer. For that, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to access your mouse cursor. Then, move your mouse to the right side and click the Power button. Finally, click the Restart button to restart your computer. However, if it doesn’t help, you need to press Ctrl+Shift+F10 and then, Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager. Find the wwahost.exe in the Details tab and click the End task button.
Why does my computer keep saying Oops something went wrong?
As this error appears on Google Chrome, you must clear your cache and cookies to get past it. At times, it displays a similar message when you use multiple Google accounts. In such situations, you need to open the site settings wizard and block the third-party cookies.
That’s all! I hope it helped you.
