Additionally, a few users of Steam believe the Ad-block extension is the primary issue. However, this only makes sense if you’re using the Steam client via a web browser.
Fix Steam Error Code 105, Unable to connect to server
The information below will help you fix Error Code 105 if you are having problems with it:
- Flush the DNS cache
- Reboot your wireless or wired router device
- Disable the AdBlock extension
- Check if the Steam service is down.
1] Flush the DNS cache
The first step to take is to flush the DNS cache as soon as possible. We can do this quite easily, so let us explain.
Press the Windows key + R to fire up the Run dialog box. From there, please type CMD into the box and hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
When the Command Prompt appears, type the following command and hit the Enter key right after:
ipconfig /flushdns
Finally, run the Steam client to see if the error persists.
2] Reboot your wireless or wired router device
If you are having internet issues, then it could be behind Error Code 105. The best course of action to take here is to press the power button on your router to turn it off and then unplug the socket’s power cord.
Wait for up to 30 seconds, then plug the power cord back into the socket, and from there, press the power button to boot the router.
After your computer has reconnected to the web, go ahead and use the Steam client to see if the error still shows its ugly head.
3] Disable the AdBlock extension
Another option to take here is to disable the AdBlock extensions installed on your favorite web browser. This is important because some AdBlock services will block more than just advertisements on a website.
