TreeComp is a freeware utility that lets you easily sync files between two folders & directories and always keep them updated with their contents. It is a very intuitive tool with amazing features that comes in handy when comparing two folders for their content. Although it needs a bit of configuration, TreeComp is worth a checkout.

To get started, first of all, you need to select the Left and the Right directory for which you want to compare files. To select directories, go to ‘File’ and then ‘Select Directories’ and then choose
To select directories, go to ‘File’, ‘Select Directories’ and then choose corresponding directories on the left and right for comparison. You can compare a two local directories or a directory on an FTP server. Moreover, you can also compare and sync ZIP, RAR, and TCS packages.
Once you are done with selecting directories, a combined file tree is displayed in the left pane and the small colored dots corresponding to them tells you the availability status of that file or folder, blue is for the left directory and red for the right one.
To transfer files between the two directories, just select the folder from the tree view or select ‘Root’ to compare the directories at the lowest level and a complete list of available transfers will be available to you in the right pane.
You can transfer files to the other directory one by one or you can select all of them and transfer all of them at once.
There is also an option available to delete all the files from one directory that are not available in the other one. If there is a common file in the two directories, you can choose to move it from left to right or from right to left as per your need.
TreeComp comes with a CompareTrees option that lets the user choose how he/she wants to compare the directories. You can compare files in the directories by TimeStamp, Attribute, Size and Content. Comparison by so many factors ensures proper and precise results even when the two files in different directories may seem similar to us.
Overall, TreeComp is a great tool. I could use the tool to maintain files between a folder on my computer and a folder on an FTP server. It works amazingly great and does what it says. It is easy to use, comes with a friendly UI – and you will not face any difficulty in setting up the tool on your Windows computer.
