In this article, we will see how to use SuperMSConfig to customize Windows 11 experience. MSConfig, or System Configuration, is a tool in Windows 11/10 that allows you to manage some system settings. You can also use it to troubleshoot your system when a problem occurs. It helps you launch your system in Diagnostic startup and Selective startup modes for troubleshooting issues. You can also use it to manage Microsoft and third-party Services on your system.
What is SuperMSConfig?
SuperMSconfig is an advanced System Configuration tool that enhances system configuration and also allows you to customize your Windows setup immediately after installation by revisiting the OOBE (Out-of-the-box Experience).
SuperMSConfig allows you to revisit the OOBE setup and fine-tune the Windows 11 post-installation experience. You can use it to customize the Ad Experience, Intelligent Features, Privacy and Security settings, and more.
MSConfig is a built-in app that allows you to manage services. Using MSConfig may be difficult for some users. Additionally, the experience with Windows 11 may become a nightmare for some users if they accidentally disable all Services in MSConfig. SuperMSConfig also allows users to manage services. However, it does not show all the services which limits its usage to managing only some specific services.
How to use SuperMSConfig to customize Windows 11
In addition to managing apps and services, SuperMSConfig allows you to review and manage other Windows 11 settings to improve your experience. Using this app is easy. First, visit GitHub and download its zip file. After that, extract the zip file and open the extracted folder. You will see the SuperMSConfig exe file inside the extracted folder. Right-click on it and select Run as administrator to launch the app with Admin privileges.
After launching the application, select an option in the drop-down and click Check. For example, if you want to manage Ad Experience, select the desired option from the drop-down and then click Check. After that, SuperMSConfig will scan your system and show you the scanned result. The scan result of SuperMSConfig is categorized as Good Config and Bad Config. The Good Config shows already configured settings that do not require any actions. To make your experience better you need to take action for Bad Configs and the settings that are not configured.
It shows the Bad Config (Inactive) settings in red, not configured in yellow, and Good (Active) settings in white. Click the Fix button to fix all the required or Bad Config settings with a single click. However, select the required checkbox for each setting separately if you want to configure only a few settings.
The above screenshot shows the scanned results for the best Personalization settings. The results in the red show inactive configurations. Selecting the respective checkbox for a setting will make it active. For example, to hide the Task View button from the Taskbar, select the checkbox that says Hide Task view button on Taskbar.
SuperMSConfig Plugins
SuperMSConfig also has some plugins. You can view these plugins by clicking on the Copilot icon. To read about a plugin, click on the View info link. The Clippy Companion handles simple requests to manage your system. You can use it to install some recommended apps, tweak your system settings, and more.
To launch a plugin, say Clippy Companion, click on the Copilot icon, then select the plugin. To install an application with Clippy Companion, type install <application name> and select it from the results. For example, to install Opera, type install opera and select it from the results.
