- Open Windows Settings.

Is WINWORD.EXE a virus?
The WINWORD.EXE is a legitimate file, and the process is known as Microsoft Office Word. The file/process belongs to the Microsoft Office suite. The legit file is typically located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16
