If you are not sending or receiving emails on Yahoo Mail, the following tips can help you fix it easily.
- Make sure the Yahoo Mail server is not down
- Check the storage space
- Check your spam folder
- Make sure your reply-to address is blank
- Check if the sender is blocked
- Check if the domain is blocked
- Check Email filters on your account
- Know the reason for failed delivery and contact support

1] Make sure the Yahoo Mail server is not down
If you are not receiving emails on Yahoo Mail, make sure the servers of Yahoo are not down. There are many free online tools that are available to check the server status of the services you use on a daily basis. Check if the server of Yahoo Mail is up and running.
2] Check the storage space
With every Yahoo Mail, you get a storage space of 1TB. If the entire storage space is used, you cannot receive any new emails. Make sure there is enough storage space to receive new emails. Delete some unnecessary files to recover some space.
To see the storage space available on your Yahoo Mail account,
- Click on Settings under your profile icon on the top-right of the window.
- Then, click on More settings.
- You will find the storage space availability or usage details at the bottom left of the screen.
3] Check your spam folder
There are chances that the email is sent into spam folders. Do check the spam folder and see the emails you have received there. It is common for email service providers to filter some emails as spam if they are repetitive or the content in them looks like spam.

4] Make sure your reply-to address is blank
When you send an email to a person, they can reply to the email address you used to send the email. If you have filled the reply-to textbox with another email address, you cannot receive the emails to the address you used to send an email. Instead, the new emails will go to the address mentioned in the reply-to text box. Make sure the reply-to address is blank while sending an email. This could also be the reason for not receiving mail on Yahoo Mail.
5] Check if the sender is blocked
If you have blocked an address by mistake, you cannot receive emails from that address. You need to check the address of the sender you are expecting an email from is not in the block list.
To see the blocked addresses on Yahoo mail,
- Click the Settings icon
- Select More Settings
- Click Security and Privacy.
- Under “Blocked addresses”, you will find the address you have blocked.
If you find the email address you are waiting to receive an email from is in the blocked list, you can unblock it just by clicking on the Delete icon.

6] Check if the domain is blocked
If you have blocked a domain on Yahoo mail, you cannot receive emails from email addresses using that domain. You need to check the domain of the sender you are expecting an email from is not in the block list.
To see the blocked addresses on Yahoo mail,
- Click the Settings icon
- Select More Settings
- Click Security and Privacy.
- Under “Blocked domains”, you will find the address you have blocked.
If you find the domain of the email address you are waiting to receive an email from, in the blocked list, you can unblock it just by clicking on the Delete icon beside it.
7] Check Email filters on your account
On Yahoo Mail, you can use up to 500 filters to sort your emails. Make sure the filters are not sending the emails to spam or some other folder, Review the filters you have set on your Yahoo mail to fix the error.
To check the filters on Yahoo mail,
- Click the Settings icon
- Select More Settings
- Click Filters. You will see all the filters you have created there.
8] Know the reason for failed delivery and contact support
If your Yahoo Mail is not receiving emails and the above methods do not help you fix it, you can ask the reason they are getting for failed deliveries and work on it. If everything is fine with your account and you are still not receiving emails, you can contact customer support using the Yahoo support page.
